Day #7 of baking intersession
Day #6 of baking intersessionOn the 5th day of baking intersession we learned about food safety and what we need to do here to not get anyone sick. After we were done learning about food safety we got to bake more, today my group made red velvet cupcakes. We had a really tight budget but we got all the ingredients we needed. The cupcake didn't turn out good or bad but kind of in the middle but the cream cheese frosting came out really good and we sold about $10.50 worth of cupcakes.
Process pictures: Day #4 of baking intersessionFor the 4th day of baking intersession someone came in to make and talk about these cupcakes since we were gonna make our own today , she taught us how to make a banana caramel cupcake and some tips on baking cupcakes. After she was done talking about cupcakes it was time to make our own cupcakes. My group had to make lemon cupcakes with blackberry buttercream. At the end the batter came out really hard so we had to add milk to make it better, but after they were done baking we took them out and they all sunk down to the bottom and tasted like overpowering baking powder, I think we added way to much and that's why it turned out and tasted like that. It was too late to make a new battery so we just kept it and made the butter cream which tasted out better. After we were done without cupcakes another speaker came in and talked about how to capture our desserts in a good picture. He taught us how to play around with the background of the picture and some good ways to take pictures of the cupcakes. So after he explained about it we got to take some of our own.
Process pictures: Day #3 of baking intersessionFor day 3 of baking intersession we had a uest speaker come and show us how she makes her peanut butter cookies and some tips for baking cookies. After she was done talking we went to make our own cookies, my group made this chocolate chip brownie cookie but it didn't turn out as expected but the cookies were okay. After making our cookies another guest speaker came in and talked about how to make cream puffs and some tips on them.
Process pictures: Day #2 of baking intersessionFor the second day of baking intersession we learned about baking soda and baking powder we learned about the differences of them and what happens when you add vinger to baking soda and water to baking powder. After that we got to make some muffins. My group made pumpkin muffins. When the muffins were done we tried them but they didn't taste to much like pumpkin. So we decided to do it again but put it in a loaf pan. Process pictures:
